Dreamstars 3

Dreamstars 3 is a lovingly crafted shareware game from a bygone era. I'm posting it here more for portfolio reasons than for people to actually play it.

In the game you play as one of four space ships that shoot asteroids, mines and enemies on each level while collecting power-ups. Between levels each power-up you collect gives you a new item to customize your ship with. You can use autobuild to make it more arcade like in which the game will try and build the best ship with your current components between each level.

Later in the game you will get new types of weapons. You also have a friendly drone who can be spawned to help out.

It supports 2 player local multiplayer.

If you are interested in playing it you will need to contact me for a game key. It was developed for windows 98 and has some performance issues in windows 11 especially around the menu screens.

This game was written in the age before game engines like Unity and Godot existed and so I had to write my own game engine on top of DirectX in C++.

The source code for this game has become corrupted so no updates are possible.
